Monday, June 28th, 2010I was going through a box of older photos…..I mean they aren’t that old, but they were from my wedding back in 2001. And I came across this one and just though to my self..this guy is going to love this. So I decided to scan it and post. I can’t believe he carried all that crap on a wedding day.
How things have changed eh Rob….Thanks for the those awesom Wedding images Rob.
A few up dates ….
Saturday, May 22nd, 2010Ah…..Saturday morning before a busy day at the studio. I finally have a chance to breath and post some the newer images that we have been doing here at Pixatron. Shooting my first wedding of the season next weekend, Congrats to Jean-Marc and Fiona. I’ll post more for them later this weekend. Well I jumped into a high volume studio and started with baby chicks, it was a great success. So now on to the baby ducks, and something new to Pixatron, a special for fathers day. That’s right DAD’s this is a session just for you. I also have a ton of new ideas, props and themes floating around in my little brain
. Well that’s all I have for now as the studio will be opening in a few minutes. Here are some of the latest images from Pixatron.
Transitions…..
Thursday, May 13th, 2010WOW!!! Well it’s been a month already in my new career as a FULL TIME photographer and photography studio owner …….I’m lovin’ it
As I go through the transition as the new owner of Pixatron Photo Studio I begin to realize all the cool new things that I can offer to my continuing clients as well as the new comers. I started out my photography practice back in 2005. That’s right 2005. So that makes it 5 years or so now that I have taking photographs with an SLR camera. I opened my own photography business in 2007 as Michael Blinn Photography, due to the over abundance of people wanting to hire me to photograph special events in their lives. Since then I have been accepted by the PPOC (Professional Photographers of Canada) as a Licentiate Professional Photographer of Ontario. And I have national accreditation’s in wedding photography and children’s portraits. I also received my first provincial merit awards for one of my TTD prints entitled “on the right track”. I never imaged to be doing this full time. But after having the door close on my full time job, this door opened…and when it did, it flew open. As a new owner, of course I want to change some things, and keep many things the same. As the saying goes….” If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it” and that’s exactly what I’m going to do. As I move through this new chapter of my life as a full time photographer I want to combine what I know and offered my own clients, with what the current Pixatron Photo Studio offers. So Like I said, there will be many changes over the next few months, but the old faithfully will still be there as well. As I continue to finish up with my current projects I would like leave you with some of these images from a Trash the Dress Session from late summer 2009.
Our new Studio….
Sunday, March 21st, 2010Welcome to PIXATRON!
Proudly owned and operated by Michael and Cindy Blinn. That’s right folks, right at the end of one chapter of my life, a new one is written. A few months ago I was give the opportunity of a lifetime by a dear friend and fellow photographer Mike Dupont. He came to me with an offer, that quite frankly under other circumstances I might have passed up, but due to my lay off at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, this was an opportunity I just could not let go. As the new owner of Pixatron, I would like settle any rumors that might arise.
Firstly, we are not closing.
Second, we are still going to offer cool monthly themes, and better then ever monthly offers for members.
And thirdly, Pixatron will now be offering on location photography, by yours truly Michael Blinn.
With that being said, my wedding packages and pricing will still be offered exclusively by Michael Blinn Photography. Over the next few months you will see some small changes taking place, like the Pixatron website for example, will be getting a face lift as well as the Pixatron photo studio Facebook group. Even though Mike and Diane Dupont have handed me over the reigns of Pixatron, they have graciously offered to help me write the first chapter of my new life as a full time photography studio owner.
I would like to personally thank a few people: without their support this would not have been possible.
Firstly my good friends James & Jocelyn Hodgins, Rob and Tina Provencher. Thank you for your help in building my skills as a photographer and continuing to help me grow in this art. You both continue to be an inspiration to me.
My Parents Shirley and Joe Blinn, my sister Michelle Cormack, Jamie and Joe Cormack and Barry Hong. My in-laws Trudy and Jack Landry for all those talks on the phone and after dinner about which path I should take after my layoff from the hospital.
I would like to thank Terry Mcdonald and the Mcdonald family for all of their support.
I would also like to thank all of the dominoes, all my friends, and clients with out whom, none of this would be possible. And a very special thank you to Jen & Rachel and Kim & Matt. If it wasn’t for you four, I would have never have take this to the next level. Also I would like to send a special thank out to team cecutti, Mike, Ryan and Criag you three have done so much for me. Thanks
And last but not least, to Lindsay and My loving Wife Cindy, without you two, life would be so boring. Who would be there to give me flack, and who would I give flack to? But seriously, thank you for supporting me during my time in the cave night after night, during my weekends, with weddings, appointments, and early morning baby sessions, the jungle in the backyard and listening to conversation over conversation over conversation about photography. All I can say is that I love you both, and thank you for being you.
This starts a new chapter in my life, one that I can say without a doubt will be a great one. I hope that you all can be part of it. Page one starts being written April 1 2010. And no, this not an April’s fools joke. See you at Pixatron!
