Two weeks plus…..WOW….

Written by Mike Blinn - Sudbury Photographer on March 9th, 2010

…I can’t believe I haven’t posted in like two weeks. I guess I’ve just been a bit busy with work and life in general. Over the past year I have had the opportunity to photography not only a great friend of ours but also one of my wife’s cousins. I photographed her once a month during her pregnancy and then again one month after she gave birth to a beautiful little boy. This is something that I am now offering my clients. It’s the “Bump to Baby” package from Michael Blinn Photography. Call the studio for more detail.

PPO Provencial Salon Print Competition 2010

Written by Mike Blinn - Sudbury Photographer on February 8th, 2010

This years PPO provencial Salon print competition 2010 was held in Sudbury, Ontario by the North Eastern Ontario Brach of PPO. There were about 50 some enteries at a maximum of 4 prints per entery. I decided at the last minute to enter 4 prints. Since it was in Sudbury and our branch was hosting it, I was asked to help out with the set up and take down of equipment for the event. Not only did I get a chance to see some great images, and learn a lot about judging professional prints, but I also go to see my prints judged and scored. I scored a Merit and two accepted prints in my first ever provencial print competition. The print that scored Merit will automaticly be entered into the National print show and will automatically receive an accept, with the chance to go higher.   Here are those prints starting with the Merit print.

Financial issues???

Written by Mike Blinn - Sudbury Photographer on February 4th, 2010

Well, my speciality is Weddings and Children, but I can shoot almost anything….then again, I can shoot anything. :) So I had a chance today to shoot a very good friend of mine and his new business associate.  He is sponsoring a corporate dinner here in Sudbury for Pheasants Forever. He asked if I could do a not so traditional business type shot with him and his new business partner. Sure, why not… :)   The business is Michael Cecutti Financial on Paris St.  His office is nice and homie and he’s always on the go. Every time you met with Mike he’ll have coffee and some type of cookie or pastry to try. They are always home made and more times then not, they were made by clients. I don’t know if you remember the Cecutti bread, it was always fresh and always great tasting. This same home style feeling is what Mike gives to all of his clients.  If you are looking for a no nonsense financial planner who knows his stuff and genuinely cares about you, this is the man to see.

No Limits North with Andy Armstrong and Mike Long

Written by Mike Blinn - Sudbury Photographer on February 3rd, 2010

My goal from this seminar wasn’t to go and shoot my brains out,  by taking tons of pictures. But rather, to learn from two of the best from the USA. Since I belong to the same great photography forum as both of these guys, it was nice to finally meet them both in person. Both of these guys have some amazing product for professional photographers. It was so awesome to see these tools being used by the masters that created them. I can’t wait to bring some these cool new techniques to my business. Watch out Sudbury, here comes Pindor’s Box and Design House.

Here is one quick shot I grabbed from the seminar. I couldn’t go there and not shoot anything. :)

Had a great time this past weekend with Andy Armstrong and Mike Long at the workshop they put on at Calla Studios in Elmira.  I was so busy writing all the great tips and tricks down that I really didn’t have time to shoot much. I do have a few from the first night meet and great and one of  Andy as we were waiting for one the models to change. Thanks for everything guys.

Ethan…..

This is an image from my most recent photo session. Ethan is only 2 months old and very familiar with a studio setting. Not only is Ethan and his parents clients of mine, but he is also my God son. This was just done quickly, and I am hoping to have more images of him by the end of the month.  Plus I did a 9 month wall panel for mom that will be finished and post soon.
